How to Clean and Care for Your Monument Valley 2 Vinyl

Quick answer

To keep your Monument Valley 2 Vinyl Soundtrack sounding great and looking beautiful, use a carbon fiber brush before each play, store it upright in a cool dry place, and handle the record by its edges and label only.

Step-by-step vinyl care guide

1. Handle with care: Always hold the vinyl record by its edges or the center label. Oils from your fingers can attract dust and degrade the grooves over time. Avoid touching the playing surface entirely.
2. Brush before each play: Use a carbon fiber record brush to gently sweep away dust and static. Start from the center and move outward in a straight line, rotating the record a few times. Do not use a microfiber cloth or paper towel—these can leave scratches.
3. Store upright and away from heat: Keep the vinyl in its inner sleeve and outer jacket, stored vertically like a book. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, and humid basements. Ideal temperature range is 60–75°F (15–24°C). Never stack records horizontally—this can warp the vinyl.
4. Clean deeper when needed: For stubborn fingerprints or dust, use a record cleaning solution and a soft, lint-free cloth. Spray the solution onto the cloth (never directly onto the record) and wipe gently along the grooves. Always let the record air-dry completely before placing it back in the sleeve.
5. Inspect the record and sleeve: After each cleaning, check for any visible scratches or debris on the vinyl and the inner sleeve. Replace a worn inner sleeve to prevent scratching during storage. A fresh anti-static inner sleeve can reduce dust buildup.
