Decide if the Rocket League x Monstercat 10 Year 2xLP fits your shelf. We break down who it suits, who should skip it, and what to check before buying.
Quick answer
Buy the Rocket League x Monstercat 10 Year Anniversary 2xLP if you already enjoy Rocket League's electronic soundtrack and want a commemorative double LP. Skip it if you only want the game's full score or you rarely play records.
What this release actually is
This is a 2xLP vinyl record celebrating 10 years of Rocket League, produced with Monstercat. It collects fan-favorite tracks from the game's electronic soundtrack rather than the complete score. If you are looking for every ambient cue or menu loop, this is not that. The tracklist focuses on the Monstercat side of the music, which is high-energy and beat-driven. That makes it a good fit for listeners who already enjoy electronic game vinyl and want a record that feels like a session, not a background score.
The trade-off: commemoration vs. completeness
Anniversary pressings often prioritize the vibe over the full catalog. Here, the 2xLP format gives the tracks room to breathe, but it also means some music from the game is left off. The bigger trade-off is that this is a Monstercat collaboration, so the selection leans toward that label's artists and style. If your favorite Rocket League moments are tied to non-Monstercat tracks, you may find the record incomplete. On the other hand, if you already listen to Monstercat compilations, this will feel like a natural addition.
Pressing and packaging: what we can and cannot tell you
The catalog does not list pressing weight, color variant, or mastering details for this release. That is not a red flag, but it does mean you should not assume audiophile-grade specs. If those details matter to you, check the product page or ask the store before ordering. What we do know is that it is a 2xLP, so expect two records and a gatefold-style sleeve typical of anniversary editions. Beyond that, treat the packaging as a collector's item first and a high-end audio pressing second.
Decision rules for buying this 2xLP
- You already listen to Monstercat or electronic game vinyl: Buy it. The track selection is built around Monstercat artists, so it will slot naturally into a collection of similar electronic soundtracks.
- You want the complete Rocket League score: Skip it. This is a curated anniversary release, not a full soundtrack, and some in-game music will be missing. Check the tracklist before ordering if completeness matters to you.
- You are buying mainly as a collector's display piece: Buy it if the 10-year anniversary theme appeals to you. But confirm the sleeve condition and any included extras, since packaging details are not listed in the catalog.
- You are new to vinyl and unsure about the pressing: Wait. The catalog does not specify weight or mastering, so if you need confirmed audiophile details, ask the store first or choose a release with published specs. Do not assume 180g or special color vinyl without confirmation.
